Our Center

     The Hugs and Cradles Montessori Playschool and Child Minding logo was conceptualized from the Montessori Principles in line with the school’s mission.

     At the center is the tree of the Fruits of Normalization.  Normalization describes the process that occurs in the Montessori classroom where young children learn to focus and concentrate for sustained periods of time, while deriving self-satisfaction   from their work.  Normalization occurs when development is proceeding normally.  (Understanding Normalization and the Montessori Classroom NAMC)  In a Montessori environment the child achieves its normalized stage once he is able to attain  the stages of normalization namely love of order, love of work, concentration, patience, initiative, independence, obedience, friendliness, discipline and joy. 

     The heart enclosing the tree represents the identity of the center as a playschool and child minding facility, which is to influence and show love.  Love shown through motherly and nurturing care to its children; thus the name of the school Hugs and Cradles is also anchored to the same core purpose.  The brown color of the heart is a preference of the founder that signifies warmth, honesty, neutrality, security and home; that the Hugs and Cradles Montessori Playschool and Child Minding Center family embodies.

     The teacher and child symbolize its aim to emphasize the value of profound respect for the child and his uniqueness; through child-centered approach and freedom of learning in the Montessori Prepared Environment.  The child on the logo specifically works on the Pink Tower, one of the basic Sensorial Montessori materials introduced to playschool children; which aims to develop the child’s skills to discriminate size, develop order and concentration and further achieve the stages of normalization.

     Significantly the unity symbol at both ends of the name hugs and cradles both symbolizes the four founders and incorporators [and their thrust to achieve their mission and vision of building the first ideal playschool and child minding center in Iloilo City.
